Peter Putman is president of ROAM Consulting LLC in Doylestown, PA. A 44-year veteran of the commercial AV and home theater industries, Pete has authored hundreds of columns, tutorials, and feature articles for 35 years on topics as diverse as display technology, digital video, RF and wireless signal propagation, and signal interfacing; all for a wide range of magazines and media outlets. 

He has presented, instructed, and moderated panel discussions multiple times at major trade shows and technical conferences, among them SMPTE, the NAB West and East trade shows, the Hollywood Professional Association Technology Retreat, CEDIA Expo, and Integrated Systems Europe. 

Pete taught seminars and workshops annually at the InfoComm trade show for 20+ years and a Senior Academy member of AVIXA University™ faculty. He was one of the first candidates to earn InfoComm’s Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) designation, and was also named InfoComm’s 2008 Educator of the Year. 

Pete earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Seton Hall University and a Master of Science degree in Television and Film from Syracuse University. He has also been a licensed Amateur Radio operator for 51 years, and currently holds Extra Class callsign KT2B. Pete is a Life Member of SMPTE and recently authored an online course on the fundamentals of ultra-high-definition television for the organization.
